Here we have a copy of the Newsprint from the Independence Reporter on Sunday 6-29-2014. This photo is a scan from a print from Dale Russell's scan of a newsprint, so some enhancements were made for the text to be readable. |
Our Banner was placed near the entrance to the Riverside Park There are 15 Photos selected that were taken by Mike Byers and Dale Russell during the Saturday 6-28-2014 Field Day event at the Independence Riverside Park, next to the Stadium that we used to hang some antenna wires. Mike only appears in the Newsprint Photo above, in the background, but we have him in photos on the Meetings Page of this website. FD-02 George, Don, Josh and Paul are stringing guy wires and assembling the antenna FD-03 Josh, Paul, George, Jason and Don are teamworking the rigging FD-04 Jason was bolting the branches from the ladder and George is stabilizing the sway as Josh and Don are watching, and Paul is connecting the cable. FD-05 This is really a very stable rig and wind tested in severe conditions, it came out with no problems. FD-06A Our local news reporter visits with Josh as Ron completes his setup. FD-06 The Independence Reporter Photographer Rob Morgan and his son brought a Hallicrafters S-38 Receiver to check out. Don and Paul tuned it in on the main antenna and found it working great, and only 68 years old. FD-07 Don tuned in and worked some dust off the Vintage Hallicrafters S-38 radio. The S-38 is a 1946 Receiver with 4-Bands from 540khz to 32mhz with 6-tubes, a great series of radios. FD-08 Dale and Ron are laying out the Technicians Tests for Toby and Steve,. But first come the filling out of the personal information forms and photo IDs for the FCC submission. FD-09 Toby is being coached by Dale on the Name and Address portion of the Test Form. FD-10 Steve is verifying his Address and Classification on the Certificate of Completion Form. FD-11 Ron is the master of this part of the examination paperwork. Ron, Dale and Paul are the examiners and Don is in the background as Mike is taking these photos.. FD-12 Jason, Earl, Ron and Don are setting their profile and smiles as Jason receives his examination Certificate after passing his upgrade to General Class. FD-13 Jason logged some hits on the Field Day CQ event. FD-14 Mike Byers took this shot of his equipment just before the rains hit the fan. We all got our feet wet on the teamwork of hazard communications events. FD-15 Toby is testing, Don is tuning, and Ron is arranging. Even the resting periods were busy on this Field Day. A visiting relative of Don, Kelley Denison, with Josh in the background by our generator. Josh, Don, and Jason in background with Joel Denison helping out. Owen Denison is holding up Don's bumper and watching the mayhem. Another 35 Photos on NEXT PAGE, click here
